Introducing Get Relief
Get Relief is an individualized program that will enable to you identify and implement stress-reduction and resilience strategies that work for you. This three-session package introduces you to the basics of Yoga-based stress reduction, and supports you so you can get relief from the effects of stress with your own simple and effective home-based stress-reduction practice.Here’s how the Get Relief package works
Each session lasts 1.5 hours, during which you will receive
- 1:1 instruction on three simple principles of stress resilience, and the three keys to ensuring lasting benefit
- 1:1 instruction on and individualization of essential stress-resilience practices
- 1:1 coaching, support and troubleshooting
- information on the stress reaction and stress response cycles and how to apply this information in your life so you can address stress effectively
- comprehensive assessment of five dimensions of wellness and recommendations for individualized strategies you can use to support your well-being
With this coaching package you will
- Develop a better understanding of your symptoms.
- Learn how awareness can increase your capacity to cope.
- Experiment with and implement practices to enhance your awareness and apply them to managing your stress.
- Learn practical and accessible, individualized tools to manage stress.
- Change your relationship to stress and stressors for good.
How it Works
We will get together every other week, in person or via video. On the weeks where we don’t see each other in person we’ll have a check-in by phone, and you’ll have access to me for email support.

Plus, I have a Masters in counselling and spirituality, am a certified and registered Yoga teacher, a certified trainer in both Nonviolent Communication (NVC) and the Focusing technique, and a Tapas Acupressure Technique professional.

What if I hate Yoga? Do I have to get into those weird postures?
The Get Relief program does not necessarily involve the physical forms of Yoga. I will teach you the three stress-reduction principles and apply them in ways that work for you. If you want to use the physical forms, then you do need to be able to get up and down from the floor with relative ease, and enjoy more-or-less normal range of motion in your limbs. But I don’t teach pretzel yoga. You don’t have to have a Yoga body to participate. You don't even have to do the physical Yoga forms at all to benefit.
Do I have to be spiritual?
This program is not spiritually-based, and you do not have to be either spiritual or religious to benefit. We will touch on the role spirituality plays in wellbeing, but if this particular approach is not for you, you can still benefit from the many other strategies and tools available.
What if I already have my own religious beliefs and practices?
If you already have spiritual beliefs and practices, we will explore how you can use them to enhance your coping, if you're interested. My teacher's teacher, TKV Desikachar, insisted Yoga was not a religion, and encouraged Yoga students to first and foremost turn to their own heritage for their spiritual inspiration. My training as a Yoga teacher and my education in bringing spirituality to bear on wellbeing leads me to concur.
What if I'm not the "Yoga type"? Will this still work for me?
Yes. This stress reduction program introduces you to a wide range of tools from the Yoga tradition, including breathing and movement, but also goes beyond these to guided exercises, journalling activities, working with beliefs and mindset, and exploring spirituality.
What if I need to rebook a session?
You are welcome to re-schedule one appointment. All sessions (including rescheduled sessions) must be scheduled, booked and attended within a 10-week period.

What if I decide I don't want to continue?
If, after our first meeting, you decide you want to cancel your package, you are welcome to do so. You must cancel at least 48 hours prior to your second session. Upon cancellation, if you have made one payment, I will refund 2/3 of the fee. If you have elected to use a payment plan, I will cancel the second and third payments.
What if I change my mind and want my money back?
If we haven't booked any dates yet, I am happy to refund your payment in full.
If we have booked our meetings already, but you haven't attended any,
a) and you have made one payment, I will refund 2/3 of the fee.

If you have attended any sessions, and you inform me you want to cancel, I will invite you to a live phone or video meeting so we can discuss a resolution.
